The Hilton Columbia Center is currently seeking an experienced and highly motivated Sales Manager. The Sales Manager is a “hands-on” manager actively involved on a daily basis in securing, qualifying and following up on leads to book specific business. What you'll do:

  • Manages all areas of sales according to brand standards to achieve a professional rapport within the local business community.
  • Responsible for revenue production for the hotel meeting or exceeding planned revenue objectives for RevPAR, occupancy and average daily rate (ADR).
  • Employ revenue management techniques to recommend group rate proposals.
  • Develops and implements the hotel’s marketing and sales plan based on the hotel’s position and strengths within each market segment.
  • Achieve new business booking goals by conducting sales calls to prospective clients, responding to RFP's, and participating in travel agent consortia programs.
  • Analyzes and understands the competition’s strengths and weaknesses for each market segment and successfully directs marketing activities against each.
  • Conduct market research through client correspondence and internet searches to qualify business potential and determine the level of room night volume.
  • Participates in weekly revenue calls and weekly manager meetings.
  • Actively markets the hotel through advertising, blitzes, direct mail campaigns, etc.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to guest service by responding to guests’ needs.
  • Prepares departmental budget that correctly reflects the hotel’s business plan.
  • Forecasts occupancy fluctuations and directs selling activities to maximize revenues.
  • Ensures that hotel employees (especially front desk staff) are familiar with key accounts and their specific needs and arrangements (rates, room types, key contacts, etc.).

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 2+ years hotel sales/management experience preferred.
  • Strong Sales Coordinator looking for advancement encouraged to apply.
  • Knowledge of Delphi a plus.
  • Marriott experience a plus.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be a citizen of this country or possess a valid work permit.
